The Solar Path
The Sun represents clarity, strength, and renewal. This path is the clinical side of my work — evidence-based psychotherapy for trauma and related challenges, rooted in compassion and guided by deep respect for your nervous system’s wisdom.
Psychotherapy for Trauma Healing & Soul Evolution
Who this path is for
You might find yourself:
Feeling anxious, on edge, or constantly “on.”
Struggling with flashbacks, nightmares, or emotional numbness.
Holding it all together for everyone else while feeling disconnected inside.
Craving relief, clarity, and the ability to actually feel safe again.
If that resonates, the Solar Path offers grounded, evidence-based therapy designed to help you rebuild safety, trust, and connection — within yourself and in the world around you
How I work
My approach integrates modern trauma therapy with deep nervous-system awareness and a soul-centered lens. Together, we’ll identify what’s happening in your body and mind and develop tools that help you regulate, reframe, and release what no longer serves you.
Modalities I draw from include:
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing) for trauma reprocessing.
DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) for emotion regulation and mindfulness.
PE (Prolonged Exposure Therapy) for approaching trauma-related avoidance
CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy) for trauma-related beliefs and patterns.
Mindfulness & somatic practices for nervous-system tending.
Psychedelic-assisted therapy preparation & integration for those walking that path. See below for details.
My goal isn’t to “fix” you, but to help you reconnect with your innate capacity to heal — to reclaim your vitality, boundaries, and sense of wholeness.
What to expect
In our work together, we begin by establishing a strong foundation of safety, clarity, and consent. In your first sessions we’ll explore your history, nervous-system patterns, and trauma imprints so that we can tailor an approach that fits you.
From there, we step into evidence-based interventions (EMDR, DBT, CPT, PE, etc.) that help your mind & body move from surviving into thriving.
While every person’s journey is unique, many clients begin to feel meaningful shifts within 5–10 sessions. For more deep‐rooted trauma, 10-15 sessions or more often provide space for true transformation.
I generally recommend weekly sessions to maintain momentum and nervous-system regulation, though bi-weekly can work if you’re comfortable doing consistent practice between meetings—and you feel the rhythm supports you.
Rooted in Science & Soul
Healing isn’t just cognitive — it’s cellular, emotional, ancestral. Therapy on the Solar Path bridges neuroscience and the sacred: helping you understand your brain and body while also honoring the parts of you that logic alone can’t reach.
I believe true healing happens when evidence-based practice meets embodied presence. That’s where resilience becomes renewal.

Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)
A doorway into the depth talk therapy couldn’t reach
You’ve done therapy. Maybe years of it. Maybe medication too. And somewhere along the way you started to feel the edge of what those tools could reach — relief, yes, but surface-level. The deeper thing didn’t move. You can feel it down there, still waiting. Your soul is asking you to go deeper. You’ve heard about ketamine and you’re not entirely sure what to make of it. But part of you is hopeful — cautiously, quietly — that this can be better than it’s been. What you’re really looking for is someone you can trust to walk with you through the dark parts. That’s the work I do
-Katie Blackthorn
What KAP Actually Is:
Let me be honest with you about ketamine, because honesty is where trust starts.
Ketamine is the legal doorway right now. Of the medicines that can open this kind of depth, it’s the one you can pursue safely, legally, and with a clinician holding the whole arc. That matters. It’s not a lesser door because it’s the legal one — it’s a real one.
Ketamine softens the defenses that have kept you safe and kept you stuck. It creates enough distance from the overwhelm that you can finally turn and look at what’s underneath — the material your nervous system has spent years guarding against. Talk therapy sometimes can’t reach that place — not because the work was wrong, but because defenses doing their job don’t step aside on request. Ketamine lets them rest. And in that opening, the deeper work becomes possible.
The medicine opens the door. It does not do the walking. That part is still yours — and you don’t do it alone.
Who This Is For:
You’ve tried talk therapy and found some relief — and felt, underneath it, that there were more layers you couldn’t get to. You suspect your own defenses, your rigidity, the ways you’ve learned to stay protected, are part of what’s keeping you stuck. You want to go deeper than you’ve been able to go on your own. You’re not looking for a quick fix or a way to make the feeling go away. You’re looking for a turning point. I work with people ready to go into the difficult places — not recklessly, but because they understand the way to the light runs through the dark. That includes veterans and others who’ve faced real darkness and haven’t found, in conventional care, anyone who could meet them there.
KAP is not right for everyone or every moment. Part of our early work together — and part of Journey Clinical’s medical intake — is honest assessment of whether this path makes sense for you right now. That honesty is part of the care.
How the Partnership Works:
KAP at my practice is offered in partnership with Journey Clinical, which lets me hold the therapeutic container while their licensed medical team handles the medical side. Their medical team determines eligibility through a thorough intake, develops your treatment plan, and prescribes and monitors the medicine. I deliver the psychotherapy — preparation, the dosing sessions, and integration. You stay fully held on both sides: medical safety and soul work, each tended by someone trained for it. This is care that stays inside my scope as a licensed clinician. Nothing here is improvised.
The Difference Between a Clinic and a Container:
In most ketamine clinics, you’re shown to a clinical room, given the medicine, and sent home. The dosing happens. The journey doesn’t. KAP opens a critical window — a period when the psyche is unusually able to reorganize, when old patterns loosen and something new can take root. What happens in that window decides everything. Met with intention, preparation, and skilled integration, it becomes a threshold into lasting change. Left unheld, it closes, and you return to the same patterns you came in with. This is why I hold KAP as a ceremony, not a procedure. The medicine is one part of a larger arc:
Preparation — We build the container before you ever take the medicine. We explore your intention, your history, what you’re walking toward and what you’re afraid of. You arrive ready.
The journey — The dosing session itself: a descent into the deeper layers of your psyche, held with respect and reverence, in a space built for it.
Integration — The part most clinics skip, and the part where the real change happens. We take what surfaced and translate it into your actual life — so it imprints as growth and wholeness instead of fading back into old grooves.
What Makes This Different:
I’m not a therapist who took a weekend training and added ketamine to a menu. I’m a licensed trauma therapist with over a decade of specialized experience, including a ten-month psychedelic-assisted therapy training — and a Wise Woman and Underworld Guide who has done her own descent work in expanded states. I know this terrain from both sides: the clinical and the soul. I understand trauma, nervous system physiology, and evidence-based treatment. I also understand what it means to go down into the underworld, meet what’s there, and find your footing again on the way back. I won’t coddle you. I won’t chase the light while ignoring the dark. I can hold all of you — the parts you’ve shown other people and the parts you haven’t. That’s the whole point of having a guide who isn’t afraid of the territory.
A Word on Safety and Honesty:
KAP is a legal, clinical treatment. The ketamine is prescribed and monitored by medical professionals. This is not the same as pursuing psychedelics on your own, and I’ll always be straight with you about what’s known, what isn’t, and whether this is the right doorway for you right now.
This offering is exclusive to California residents.
